Our partners Jeffrey Greilsheimer and Tomás María Casalins were invited by Instituto CEDEFLaw to discuss Section 1782, Title 28 of the U.S. Code: “Assistance to Foreign and International Tribunals and to Litigants before such Tribunals.” We are very grateful to P. Augusto Van Thienen for hosting and Instituto CEDEFLaw for the invitation. It was a great opportunity to briefly discuss this important tool for obtaining evidence that must be filed in conjunction with a judicial process or investigation, whether civil or criminal, initiated before a foreign or international court or tribunal (i.e., outside the U.S.).
